In this presentation, Anthony Hannan describes research in a transgenic mouse model of HD showing that gut microbiota are altered at an early stage. Initial microbiome profiling used 16S rRNA sequencing, followed up with metagenomics. He presents, the first evidence of gut dysbiosis in a genetic model of schizophrenia and research using similar approaches to address mechanisms and therapeutic targets.
